RATINGEN GERMANY, September 26, 2025 – FUJIFILM Healthcare Europe is excited to announce the European launch of the ED-840T video duodenoscope for Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) care as the latest addition to the ELUXEO® endoscopy portfolio.
Equipped with a large 4.5 mm instrument channel, revised tip shape and flexible section for improved insertion, the new 800 series video duodenoscope is designed to support endoscopists with high-resolution endoscopic imaging within the clinical workflow, whilst optimising infection control for patients when treating biliary and pancreatic diseases.
Compatible with FUJIFILM’s new ELUXEO® 8000 endoscopy solution, this is the seventh in an entire series of new and upcoming innovations to be released under the ‘WELCOME, FUTURE’ initiative.
"This is a true therapeutic platform that will help us to provide the best treatment to our patients in the future."
- PD Dr. Torsten Beyna, Evangelisches Krankenhaus Düsseldorf, Germany

REDESIGNED FOR IMPROVED TREATMENT PERFORMANCE
A focused redesign of the ED-840T includes an improvement to the angle at which the treatment tool can be lifted for reduced stress during procedures. With a newly designed G-Lock® elevator that allows the guide wire to be fixed more precisely into position, the new duodenoscope has been engineered for increased treatment performance, supporting endoscopists with a range of motion to exchange treatment tools more efficiently during procedures.
In addition to performance, the tip of the duodenoscope has been fitted with a removable cap for easier cleaning for enhanced efficiency in between procedures.
WORKING IN HARMONY WITH THE ENDOSCOPIST
Designed to enable efficient endoscopic treatment of biliary and pancreatic diseases, the ED-840T duodenoscope is carefully engineered to work in harmony with the endoscopist, responding accurately to the physician’s movements during procedures. A rounded tip allows for easy passage through the pharynx and pylorus. The hardness and elasticity change from the tip of the insertion section to the handle enables the tip to be softer, whilst allowing the handle to change from stiff to flexible, creating a high elasticity gradation flexible section. Overall, the ED-840T is engineered to improve responsiveness and control, by transmitting the endoscopist’s movements to the duodenoscope tip for seamless operability.
SUPPORTING ENDOSCOPISTS WITH ENHANCED FLEXIBILITY
Equipped with a large 4.5 mm instrument channel and a slim 13.1 mm tip outer diameter, the ED-840T duodenal scope allows enhanced manipulation of endotherapeutic devices, giving clinicians greater control and flexibility during procedures. Including a high-performance insertion section with revised tip shape and flexible section, the ED-840T is designed to support endoscopists with high-resolution images of the papilla. It also improves the angle at which instruments can be raised, enabling efficient endoscopic treatment of biliary and pancreatic diseases.
“An increased working channel of the duodenoscope scope is very important. It allows you to smooth the introduction of, for example, a ten French biliary stent in the presence of 2 or 3 guide wires... and this makes the procedure more easy and more effective also for the patients.”
- Prof. Dr. Pieter Hindryckx, University Hospital of Ghent, Belgium
ENHANCED MATERIALS FOR BETTER HPB TREATMENT
The flexible section on the new duodenoscope is equipped with an enhanced insertion section designed for improved elasticity, durability and to provide a larger diameter*. This allows for smooth insertion and easier removal of a range of treatment tools. Furthermore, the change in material is designed to improve suction power when inserting treatment tools, supporting more comfortable examinations.
*The diameter of the insertion portion is at its maximum when the distal end cap is attached.
HIGH-RESOLUTION IMAGING WITH CMOS SENSOR
The ED-840T includes a high-resolution CMOS sensor for clear, high-definition imaging designed to improve papilla observation performance and to support cannula insertion. With special light observation modes such as BLI® LCI® and ACI® this new duodenoscope is carefully crafted to support everyday endoscopic examinations from diagnosis through to differential diagnosis.
“I think the image quality of this new scope is excellent...and the fact that we now also have the possibility of some enhanced imaging modes just makes the procedure more easy.”
- Prof. Dr. Pieter Hindryckx, University Hospital of Ghent, Belgium
